Semester 2:52
And Jesus grew in wisdom, and in stature, and in favor with God and man. – Luke 2:52
What is Semester 2:52?
In Luke 2:52 we find Jesus’ entire young adult life summed up in a verse. We generally skip over it however the key to growth and development as a young adult is explicitly found in this passage.
The purpose of Semester 2:52 is to raise up young men and women as leaders and disciples for their own communities by living adventurously with wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). This school is not a ministry school or an accredited collegiate-level school. This is a school for students who want to become men and women after God’s own heart and be fruitful in their present and future communities. Students between 18-25 years old our invited to join this gap semester program for four months of development in four areas: |
- Wisdom – Wisdom is both the knowledge and application of our reality/existence, as created by God. Simply put, wisdom is the best way to live this life. Students will dive deep into the definition of wisdom and into the Bible’s Wisdom Literature to discover God's ways in our world.
- Stature (Skill) – Stature, or skill, is a person’s ability to perform different tasks and accomplishments. In the Adventure School students will learn basic life skills including personal finances, mechanics, and common household chores.
- Favor of God – Our existence is owed to a Creator; a Creator who is interested in calling us His people. Students will discover what it means to be God’s people and how to interact with Him.
- Favor of Man – We have been hardwired for community, but that does not necessarily mean we immediately know how to behave or interact within it. Students will find ways of establishing themselves within a community and understanding basic relational skills.
