Womens Retreat

The Women's Retreats are a time to step away from the busyness of life and take time to relax and be refreshed. It's a time to share and pray with your sisters in Christ. During the "free time" you can take a walk and be alone with God, if that's what you need; play games or work on a craft, while visiting; or even take a nap. Here's what Liz P. from Martinez, wrote about her experience at the April 2008 women's retreat.(see below)
“I See God”
As I looked upon God’s creation I realize the complex beauty of God. Looking in these woods I see you Lord in a way that I have never seen you before. You’ve shown me you in this awe inspiring vision of splendor. Just to be able to see your work and see you in the multifaceted glory of who you are.
The trees vary with their branches inter-twined. Each branch so different and yet entwined together. Branches flow together, not struggling to over take each other, but working together in perfect harmony. As four distinct plants each side-by-side inter-twine and lightly touch you can see the beauty and complexity of each branch become evident for all to see.
I see you Lord in how you are so multifaceted and yet each part of who you are, each facet of you is perfect. The forest is but a beginning of the visual evidence of how you Lord are such a perfect, beautiful, complex and awe-inspiring God.
As I stopped at the top of the path to take one more look at God and His awesome creation I heard angels singing. I look at the tree tops and listened to His angels. As tears filled my eyes I could no longer see, but the angels sang on. I realized the angels were the women from the women’s retreat singing “The Old Rugged Cross”, proof of God having put small glimpses of heaven on earth.
